Course Description
When you put a book up for sale on Amazon, you get seven keyword boxes. Amazon says that these boxes are “to help readers discover your book” but that isn’t a very good description of how we should use these boxes. We’re not trying to describe books, we’re trying to sell them.
This course will show you how to use the keywords boxes in a whole new way that focuses on sales, rather than description or search efficiency. We will also talk about how to go back and check how well your keywords are performing, so you can make changes and keep increasing your sales. You’ll see those keyword boxes in a new way by the end of this course, and you’ll probably realize that you have wasted most of that keyword space if you’ve published books already.
Above is an example of a book with a wide potential audience. Not only anyone on the LGBTQ spectrum that likes fantasy novels, but also fans of the author who are searching for his other books. If someone is looking for ‘Jhereg’ they are looking for Steven Brust, who is one of the authors of this book and Steve’s fans tend to buy all of his stuff, so getting it in search results for anything related to his name gives us a nice boost in sales.
